{CAPSTONE COURSE}

Winter 2015

In a final course for the Sweetland Minor in Writing program, a fellow classmate and I decided to create a promotional video aimed at recently accepted Michigan students for our large-scale project

With a timeline of four months and heads filled with big ideas, we embarked on a journey full of trials and triumphs to get to our finished piece.

Througout the process, we developed our skills on a professional level through email communication, on a multimedia level with video editing programs and camera rental, and on a written level with our script.

Food For Thought is in exploratory essay in which I track my evolution as a writer throughout my four years of undergrad at the University of Michigan. Click the button on the left to read my first draft and final copy of the piece.

{GATEWAY COURSE}

 Fall 2014

In Why I Write, a self-reflective essay, I examine the inherent characteristics that allow my writing to flourish. Writing is not only something that I am assigned to do as an English major and Writing minor, but also something that I need to do to feed my soul. Please click the button on the left to read more.

In an introductory course to the Writing minor, students spend the majority of the semester on a two-part project. This project involves transforming an existing piece of writing into two, completely reimagined pieces

In the first part of this assignment entitled Repurposing, I took a small note that was left for me in a textbook and turned the idea of note writing into a flyer for a note writing campaign.

The second part of the assignment, Remediation, included the implementation of the actual campaign and the inclusion of multimedia elements through a video and website to document its success.
